[Oh. That word hits him square in the chest, and he leans up a little on his elbow in order to study Viktor's face. But... no, it looks sincere. He looks sincere, and Jayce cups his cheek to press their mouths together with the utmost tenderness. Afterwards, he rests their foreheads together, smiling in both fondness and disbelief.] I think I might have fallen in love with you when you pulled out that ring of keys. But I think I realized it when I saw your face as we were floating.

We've both been stupid, I guess. Trying to protect ourselves from something secretly wonderful.

I was...afraid, perhaps. That you would reject me, or that I would end up hurting you somehow.[Honey-gold eyes regarded him with a geentle warmth as Viktor's hand traced mindless lines along his partner's shoulders.] I still might, miláčku. Is that a risk you want to take?

I told you before, but I'll say it again. [He touches Viktor's cheek as he does, meeting that warm amber gaze with a deeply fond look of his own.] Yes. A thousand, a million times yes, you are work the risk for me. Always.

Especially if it means hearing you calling me sweet things like that. Well -- I assume meelachku is something sweet, anyway. [His pronunciation is terrible, but he's trying.]

[Viktor huffed out a laugh,shakng his head.]

Not even close, but a commendable effort. Don't worry--if I were insulting you, I would want you to know it.

Thanks. I think? [One more kiss before Jayce pulls away with a sigh.] I'm invading your bathroom, briefly, to grab a washcloth. We should clean up a little before we try to sleep.

Do you want a hand with your leg brace, afterwards? [The last part is said over his shoulder as he moves to the edge of the bed and stretches his arms over his head. His undershirt is... somewhere, but he'll find it later.]

...That would be nice, I think. [Viktor pulled himself to sit up and leaned over, enough to press a kiss to the back of Jayce's neck.] Do not get too accustomed to helping me with everything, but...once in a while, I might not mind that much.

[The kiss to the back of his neck is a bit of a surprise, and he's grateful that in the moment, Viktor can't see the flush it brings to his cheeks. He turns to give his partner a peck on the lips, nosing affectionately at his cheek.] Then I'll take the temporary chance to spoil you a little.

[Retreating to the bathroom, he takes a moment to try and tidy himself up before things get... sticky. Though gods, if he's truly honest with himself, he wouldn't mind being marked like this for a while.

He shakes off the thought and runs some warm water over a fresh cloth and rejoins Viktor on the bed.] If you're calling me sweet things in... Zaunian? Do I get to call you sweet things, too? [His question is as genuine as his smile as he runs the cloth carefully over Viktor's stomach and thighs.]

Zaunite--the dialect is something like a linguistically drifted form of whatever's spoken in Shurima. [He mumbled that idly, having laid back down with his head in folded arms. Quietly enjoying the attention, like a contented cat in a sunbeam.]

You can call me whatever you want. I believe I have already let you shorten my name on occasion without remark, have I not?

Zaunite. [He'll remember that, for the future. Maybe see if he can find a book and learn a few words. Even if Viktor would make fun of his pronunciation, it would be worth it to see that adorably surprised expression on his face.

Once his partner is sufficiently clean, he settles the pajama pants back around his hips with an affectionate kiss to his stomach. Then, he gets to work on the leg brace.]

I do, yeah. But I meant more along the lines of... sweetheart, maybe? Or beautiful. Not baby, I don't think. Neither of us are the type.

[Viktor mumbled something indistinct, hiding his face for all the good it wouldn't do--blushing pink all the way to his shoulders again. The brace came off easily enough, leaving further surgical bolts running along his shin and harsh red marks where it fastened tightly against pale skin.]

...wouldn't mind. Not in front of anyone, though.

[With the utmost tenderness, he traces his fingertips over those marks and indentations, like his touch might soothe away the sting they leave behind.

He leans up to press a kiss to Viktor's flushed shoulder, then the bit of his cheek not hidden by the arm across his face.] Just between us.

You blush so pretty, sweetheart.

[He made a soft noise halfway to a moan at the attention to his leg--it did ache, and the gentle touch was a new and unspeakably nice experience.]

And you are insufferable, lásko. [Viktor lifted his head enough to look at Jayce with the smallest smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.] Unbelievably so.

Oh I'm the worst, absolutely. [That little moan is a fairly clear indicator that he's doing something right, so he keeps it up. Applying some gentle pressure and rubbing the places that look the most sore.]

Some day, I'll learn Zaunite and figure out what you were saying to me, earlier. Was it dirty? I hope it was.

Hm...no, it was not. Next time, it might be.

[Viktor practically melted under the hands on his leg, a pleased little hum coloring words that came out breathy and distracted.]

Keep that up and I could be convinced to say anything you like.

Something sweet, then. Maybe a little romantic? [It's honestly just fun to see Viktor this relaxed and contented. And there's a certain kind of intimacy that comes in being vulnerable like this.

He spies some lotion on the night stand and rubs some onto his fingers, carefully applying it to the indentations left by the brace. He knows this sort of thing feels good after a day of wearing his gloves in the forge, working his thumb into the marks left behind by buckles and straps, so he assumes it would feel good for Viktor, as well.]

Jayce, you do not have t--[Whatever token argument he was putting forth broke off with a low noise bordering on obscene, hurriedly muffled by the back of his hand as Jayce found a particularly tense knot of muscle.]

[The last thing Viktor wanted was to be seen as someone who needed this kind of help and attention--by anyone, Jayce included. But gods, it really did feel so unbelievably nice to put himself in someone else's hands for once.]

Good spot? [He focuses there, then, carefully working the knot loose with his thumbs. Although he's wary of accidentally hurting Viktor somehow, he also trusts his partner to let him know before that happens.

He does have a sneaking suspicion that Viktor doesn't do this much for himself, much less have someone else do it, and there's an intimacy in that, too.]

I know I don't, but I chose to. You didn't ask, I did it autonomously. So it doesn't count, right? [And he tosses Viktor a wink, clearly poking at his pride ever so slightly.]

...can still kick you with my other leg, you know.

[The emptiest threat imaginable, mumbled against his hand in an attempt not to make a complete fool of himself.]

I mean it, do not get used to this- [It was hard to put up a real argument when his voice was practically shaking.] ...gods, a little harder?

[The deeply shaky threat gets ignored in favour of really digging into that knot with his thumbs, though he does keep half an eye on Viktor's face to watch for any hint of pain.

Not that he'd tell Viktor this, of course. The man is trying to keep is pride in tact, after all.] Yeah? Just let me know if it's too much.

How many times must I tell you I am n- [He trailed off in another quiet moan, the look on Viktor's face possibly more relaxed than he'd ever been in his life.]-n-not going to break?

I'm not saying you can't handle it, I'm just saying there's a difference between simply pummeling your leg and a thorough massage that actually feels good. I'm aiming for the latter.

[Oh, Viktor looks like he's about to turn into puddle, and Jayce couldn't be happier. Once that knot is done, he feels along Viktor's leg to find another and work his magic (ha) there.] Not that I'm getting used to it, but if, while I'm here, your back has any sore spots. You know, since I'm already having my wicked way with you.

Mm...definitely going to kick you.

[Totally. Any minute now.]

You do not have to. Aren't you tired?

Maybe a little, but I'm also finding that I really enjoy touching you. [As though the past... however long since their first kiss on the sofa happened hadn't been enough evidence of that.] So actually, I'm not as altruistic as you think. This is entirely self serving.

Well...mm, I suppose I could entertain that for a little longer. If you must insist.

[Viktor making a show of being put out by all this is honestly rather charming; like a petulant cat reluctantly accepting affection.

Jayce gives his delicate ankle a light squeeze before leaning back a little.] If you move to your stomach, I can attack your back. I feel like I can say with at least ninety-five percent certainty that you're more knot than muscle, after working for... gods, I don't even know how long we were in the lab.
