I'll be back, then. With an overnight bag for me, sopita for you -- and Janna knows probably a bunch of other food. Her personal tea blend, certainly, that she won't even tell me how to make.
So remember! [He grabs his bag and slings it over his shoulder.] I'm not spoiling you, my mom is. So you're obligated to accept it.
I will be here when you get back, and decidedly not on the floor.
[True to his word, however long it took Jayce to get back, Viktor would be found in his room--or rather, he'd find a pile of blankets in the vague shape of someone curled up underneath them in the characteristic way of feeling particularly unwell, back and leg braces lying across a nearby chair.]
[When Jayce returns, he brings with him his usual messenger bag, plus a small duffle with a few changes of clothes and some essentials. In his arms are two large paper grocery bags filled with containers of the promised sopita, a few tins of Ximena's powdered tea mix, and a variety of meals in small containers that are easy to reheat. Jayce didn't count, but he suspects there's enough food to last for almost two weeks.
Everything gets put away in the fridge, and Jayce's back gets set on the sofa to deal with later. When he peeks into Viktor's bedroom, he sees the blanket lump.] Hmm. Well, mysterious blanket pile, have you seen Viktor?
[There was a wordless mumble of affirmation, the blanket shifting like it was curling in on itself a little further. Probably a worse day than Viktor had been letting on, or one that had caught up to him.]
Hey... [He moves into the room a little, reaching out to touch what he's fairly certain is the top of Viktor's head.] I can make you tea, if you want it. And the doctor sent you home with some painkillers...
Oh -- hey, now. [Carefully, he sits on the edge of the bed, turning their hands a little so he can take Viktor's hand properly.] I shouldn't have put all that on you right now.
[Viktor emerged partially from the pile of blankets; hair a mess, pale and with eyes he would determinedly ignore were a little redder than they had been before Jayce left.]
I...am sorry to have made you worry so much about me.
I always worry. My mom says it makes my eyebrows wrinkle. [He wraps an arm around whatever part of Viktor has emerged from the blankets, nuzzling affectionately at his hair.]
I worry because this isn't something I know how to fix.
[He straightened up with some effort, only to end up curling against Jayce's side--a terrible idea in Viktor's own opinion, but something he badly needed right now.]
Maybe not. [Now that Viktor is closer, Jayce can wrap around him properly. There's a temptation to pull him into his lap, but he'd rather let Viktor make that decision for himself.]
But we can handle it. We can take things as they come.
[Viktor didn't say anything for a long moment, instead choosing to hide his face against Jayce's shoulder and wrap both arms around him like this was all he had left.]
You do not...have to do this. It's difficult, I'm difficult, there is no reason to trouble yourself so much.
Well then isn't it a good thing that I love a challenge? [He shifts the position of his arms a little, one staying around his waist and the other settling against his back so he can gently cradle the back of Viktor's head. Fingers toying aimlessly with the soft strands of hair at the nape of his neck.]
I'm afraid you're stuck with me. Besides. [He nuzzles into the soft strands of Viktor's hair, smelling the light herbal scent of his shampoo.] Even if you got rid of me, you'd never be able to get rid of my mom. I think she likes you better.
You're right, it's rude of me to bring up how charming you are at a time like this. [It feels... easy. Holding Viktor like this. This closeness that he craves so badly finally being at least in part satisfied. Though he does suspect he might not feel fully close enough to Viktor without somehow fitting himself inside his chest cavity.
[Viktor went quiet for a moment after that, tension in his body slowly starting to leave it as he relaxed little by little. Nothing was really any better, but...it was easier to carry right now, if nothing else.]

No, there is nothing I can think of.

...do not want to hurt you. You deserve more than that.
